The suspense is over! I am so very excited to finally be able to unveil my cookbook cover.
As many of you know, in addition to writing the book and creating the recipes inside, I also photographed and styled the interior of my book. I've never photographed a book before, so I'm very excited to feature my own photography in this, my very first cookbook.
I must say that I was delighted when I was told that the very talented Matt Hulsman , whose beautiful work I had admired in the pages of Our State Magazine, had been selected to do the cover. His work is crisp, clean, and very artistic. As if that was not exciting enough, it was thrilling to find out that he would also be taking my author's photograph for the book.
The big surprise came when I realized that I would actually be on the cover! I mean...Who knew that I would someday be a cover girl? That, I could have never dreamed of. Not in a million years! But here in America, where anything is possible, dreams (even those never dreamed of before) come true every day.
So it's with tremendous joy that I present to you the cover of The New Southern-Latino Table: Recipes That Bring Together the Bold & Beloved Flavors of Latin America and The American South (The University of North Carolina Press; 2011).
My book is due out on September 12, 2011. However, you'll be able to purchase advance copies (at a discount) in several venues, which I will post here soon.
I hope you'll join me on my book tour, come to my book signing events, and cooking classes, so we can taste our way through the pages of this book together.

Dear Fran,
Thank you! I actually styled the food, photographed it inside. I did not design the interior of the book, though. For that, I had a brilliant designer,Courtney Leigh Baker, and she did a beautiful job! Hope you like it when you see it!

Congratulations!!!!!! You look beautiful, the scene is so inviting pictorially and the title is magical. If I saw this on the bookstore shelf, I would just have to pick it up and investigate!
