"Our team had been together for about 4 years and we thought we knew each other pretty well. However, the shared experience of cooking with Sandra gave us new insights into our preferences, working styles, creativity, and sense of adventure and fun.
Like little elves in Santa's workshop, we each had unique roles to play while working toward the common goal of a scrumptious meal. We made mistakes, even started a small fire in her broiler, but she handled it all deftly, with the skills of a master instructor. Opening up her home to travel weary corporate folks, and having the opportunity to prepare and enjoy a special home cooked meal differentiates this experience from any other for a working team.
Sandra doesn't just instruct you in cooking techniques. She teaches about the history, evolution, diversity and commonality of foods; demonstrates impromptu fixings, and does it all with a passion that is absolutely as contagious as her food is delicious. We left that experience with each recipe fully documented for future duplication. Moreover, we left feeling relaxed yet energized, having successfully achieved and celebrated our success through collaboration without competition or skill advantage. It remains the best outing/team building event of our collective memories. Two years later, with some new members added, the team is looking forward to doing it again!"
